Born in Hungary. She was the member of the Hungarian State Opera House for many years
where she performed leading roles in many classical as well as contemporary Hungarian operas.
ÁGNES GYARMATHY SET & COSTUME DESIGNER
Born in Hungary. She has designed numerous productions for the Hungarian State Opera, the
Budapest Operetta Theatre as well as for many Hungarian films. She teaches at the Academy of
Fine Arts in Budapest. She designed the sets for the movie Mephisto directed by Istvan Szabo
which won the 1981 Oscar for Best Foreign Film.

Born in Hungary. Her repertoire includes Anhilte in Czardas Princess (Kalman), which she performed
in Berlin, Baden-Baden, Tel Aviv and others.

MIKLÓS-GÁBOR KERÉNYI - KERO® STAGE DIRECTOR
Born in Hungary. A graduate of the University of Theatre and Film Arts, he has been the head of
the Budapest Operetta Theatre between 2001 and 2014. He has directed musical, opera and
operetta performances. His Csárdás Princess (Kalman) was performed in Salzburg and
Prague, his Countess Maritza (Kalman) in the Vienna Volksoper and his Bayadere (Kalman) in
St. Petersburg. He was awarded the prestigious Kossuth Award in 2008.

JENŐ LŐCSEI CHOREOGRAPHER
Born in Hungary. He is a dancer and choreographer. He was a soloist at the Hungarian
State Opera Ballet, the Vienna Staatsoper Ballet, the Norwegian National Ballet and the West
Berlin Deutsche Oper Ballet. He has created the choreography for Die Bayadere (Kalman),
Die lustige Witwe (Lehar), Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss) as well as several musicals.
LÁSZLÓ MAKLÁRY CONDUCTOR AND MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Born in Hungary. Having graduated form the Ferenc Liszt University of Music, he studied with
Karajan and learned from Leonard Bernstein during the course of his studies abroad. In 1976, he
became the Music Director of the Madách theatre, becoming the Budapest Operetta Theatre’s Music
Director in 1979. His most notable productions include Rigoletto (Verdi), Madama Butterfly
(Puccini), The Csárdás Princess (Kalman) and Land das Lächelns (Lehar).
GÁBOR MELIS (TSCHEKKO) ACTOR
Born in Hungary. He worked in a number of major Hungarian companies, including the
National Theatres of Szeged, Pécs, Debrecen and Miskolc. He also works as a television actor.
