    Born in Riga, Aleksandrs Antonenko graduated from Jāzeps Mediņš Music College and the Latvian Academy of Music. He received the Prof. Pauls Sakss Distinction Award and Latvian Great Music Award. Antonenko debuted at Vienna State Opera in 2006 as Chevalier des Grieux in Manon Lescaut and in 2008 he made his Salzburg Festival debut in Otello under Riccardo Muti. His repertoire includes Pollione in Norma, Don José in Carmen, Samson in Samson et Dalila, Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana and Canio in Pagliacci. Recent performances include Cavaradossi in Tosca at Royal Swedish Opera and Vienna State Opera, and Calaf at Zurich Opera House. Antonenko regularly appears at La Scala, Salzburg Festival, Bavarian State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and other prestigious venues worldwide. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
