Georgian bass Goderdzi Janelidze is the winner of the First Prize at the Elena Obraztsova International Competition and the Main Prize and Audience Prize at the International Fyodor Chalyapin competition. His current and future engagements include debuts at Teatro alla Scala and Teatro Regio di Torino, Oroveso in Norma at Opéra National de Bordeaux, Sparafucile in Rigoletto at The Royal Opera House, Opéra national de Paris, the Bregenzer Festspiele, Teatro Colón Buenos Aires and the Canadian Opera Company, Un vieillard hébreu in Samson et Dalila at The Royal Opera House, Colline in La bohème with Gran Teatre del Liceu, Philippe II in Don Carlos at the Royal Danish Opera, King René in Iolanta, The King’s Herald in Lohengrin at the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, the title role in Don Quichotte at the Wexford Festival Opera, and many more. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
