Chinese born Chuan graduated from Guangzhou Conservatory and the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan. He joined La Scala's Academy of Lyric Opera in 2017, performing roles including Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi directed by Woody Allen.

Recent and upcoming engagements include Duke in Rigoletto under Daniel Oren, Ramiro in La Cenerentola at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Liebeskof in Il viaggio a Reims at La Scala and Rossini Opera Festival Pesaro, and his Canadian debut as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at Calgary Opera. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
